Class Guidelines
Just a few things to remember when coming to class.
PLEASE arrive to class on time. Please allow time for traffic, parking, and sign-in.
What to Wear
- Top: Form-fitting t-shirt, camisole, etc. I need to see the alignment of the lower spine. Please no baggy T-shirts. Exposing your midriff is not necessary.
- Bottom: Form-fitting (doesn’t have to be skin-tight!) pants, such as yoga pants. I need to see the placement of your knees and feet. Please, no big skirts.
- Hips: Hip scarves are welcome, but not necessary; please NO hip scarves with beads or coins.
- Feet: Bare feet are preferred; socks, ballet slippers, and dance paws OK.
What to Bring
- Water. You will sweat.
- A notebook if you prefer to take notes.
- Ballet slippers or socks if your feet are sensitive.
- A yoga mat (if desired – not required).
- A positive and respectful attitude to both yourself and your fellow students.
What to Leave at Home
- Your cell phone. Please turn the ringer OFF.
- Hip scarves with beads or coins. They are noisy and the glass beads fall off, break, and can get into our feet.
- Large ATS/Tribal/”Gypsy” skirts. We do a lot of exercises and stretches on the floor, and skirts get in the way.
- Negative comments about yourself and your dancing.
